We are therefore committed to implementation of environmental responsible practices that are in conformance with ISO 14001 standard and with the coordination of other activity policies and procedures throughout our job execution. This involves reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.
It is our priority to encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same. Not only is this sound business sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care and protection towards future generations.
To achieve this effort, we shall:
- Wholly support and comply with or exceed all applicable laws, regulations and requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice.
- Strive towards prevention and continual reduction of adverse environmental impacts arising from our activities, thereby supporting sustainable environmental development for continual improvement.
- Minimise our waste and then reuse or recycle as much of it as possible, prevent pollution and hazardous materials, and other resource consumption at all level in the organisation.
- Minimise energy and water usage in our buildings, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies, and minimise our consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles (where appropriate) with due regard to environmental issues as far as reasonably practical and encourage the use of alternative means of transport and car sharing as appropriate.
- Apply the principles of continuous improvement in respect of air, water, noise and light pollution from our premises and reduce any impacts from our operations on the environment and local community.
- Set up and allow for publication all environmental objectives and targets, and improve plans for employees’ awareness on environmental issues.
- Routinely review this policy and update it, as may be necessary for an effective environmental management system.
OCTG shall ensure that this environmental policy shall be understood within the organization and is available at every work place.
